  1. Omg! I immediately think about me trying to teach my mother how to use her mobile!! When she seems to understand everything, she calls me back again because she has forgotten something I have just explained to her two minutes ago! Mothers and technology hahaha

  2. This video reminds me of my parents trying to learn how to use the computer!! haha. Sometimes I get really fed up when it comes to teach them something on the computer, but then I picture myself in the future asking my children the same stuff, and I try to be patient; even though that’s something really hard for me.

  5. Fortunately my parents know more or less how to use their mobile phones and computers. However, I've been trying to teach my grandmother how to use her tablet for weeks! I told her which were the steps to enter Facebook over and over again, until I came up with the idea of writing the steps on a sheet of paper. So, whenever I'm not around she reads my notes. I'm patient with her and I love watching her while she is learning. It's so funny! Next, she will be learning how to use Whatsapp....Let's see what happens.

    1. Writing things down is a good strategy!!!, maily when we are dealing with people who don't have the background knowledge to manage on their own. Good for you!

  7. I used to teach my mum how to do things in the computer but she immediately forgot everything and then asked me the same stuff over and over again. Of course, that drove me crazy for I’m not a patient person and thus, she made jokes of me hitting my future students. So now, in order to avoid that, I ask her to write down each step in a notebook. Anyway, what Lili says is true, our parents have taught us many many things but in my opinion we are better lerners than they are! Hahaha :)

  8. This video represents me trying to teach my father how to use his new mobile phone! In the past, mobile phones had keys but now they have tacile screens so it is really difficult for my dad just touch the letter to write. He makes an effort to press letters and I always tell him " You will break the screen!". Besides, his fingers are big so he tends to touch wrong things all the time hahaha. Anyway, helping him is good for me because I am developing my patience in order to be a good teacher in the future ;)

  9. Hi!! I really enjoy reading your comments! My parents use their mobile phones for different things. They sometimes need my help when they want to buy something via internet such as tickets for a concert. They don’t trust in internet. They believe that there is a person who is going to steal their money if they choose something incorrect. I help them with no problem because I think that I have to be as patient as they were with me.

  10. Hello everybody! As most of you have just said, this video reminds me my mother trying to learn to use the computer. Her problem is that she is always saying that she will never learn how to use it. I'm doing a big effort to be patient with her. I've tried writing the instructions down on a sheet of but she wasn't able to understand and remember where to find the icons written down hahaha poor mum. I hope she will learn someday!!!

  11. I´m laughing in front of my computer right now because in my house, it's actually my mum who teaches my father how to use the computer. I taught her (and keep on teaching her new things everyday) but she's a much better learner than my father is. As Liliana said in today's class, I think that the same will happen to us in a future with our children or grandchildren. Who knows what the future has prepared for us related to technology and which new advances and devices will be created in the following years!

    1. No doubt about that Ceci: your kids/students will teach you a lot in the future and you will probably behave like the monk at some point or another! ja ja

  12. Hi everybody! This video reminds me of my mother and the use of new applications in her mobile. She had little idea about it and I tought to her how to use Whatsapp. I required a lot of time and patience. I sat next to her with my mobile and hers and I explained what she had to do once and again, day after day saying the same, until she finally understood. Now she use Whatsapp, Facebook and even Instagram all the time!!

  13. Definitely this is my mother and me dealing with technology. At the begining she didn't want to know anything about computers and phones, it was all rocket science for her. Then, me and my brother convinced her to buy a phone and get in touch with her friends. Although it isn't an easy work I admit I laugh too much teaching and explaining to her how to solve all the problems she face every time she sits at the desk today.

  14. This cracked me up!
Relating ones parents to this video is completely inevitable. I think that we've all been "live user guides" to our parents in one point or the other. Since technology is advancing on a daily basis, it's quite reasonable for them to get confused or lost in the process of downloading apps and whatnot. In regards to my personal understandings, I wouldnt say that I'm an expert when it comes to managing tech, however I am curious hence the need to get my hands on current technologies and explore new gadgets whenever I get the chance.

  15. The video is hilarious! It represents me completely! I'm not into technology so I'm not good at it. Most of the times I'm stuck on some new apps or staring at the computer without knowing how to deal with a problem. In those cases I end up googling tutorials for an answer or asking one of my tech savvy friends for help. I'm a disaster! I promise I'll try harder and keep updated with technology because I'm aware of its great advantages if used properly.
